Xavier E. Pereda “Xavi” is an associate attorney at the Tampa office of Baumann, Gant & Keeley. A native of Tampa Bay, Xavi received his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in 2018.

Prior to his career in law, Xavi worked for several banking institutions, including Citi and JP Morgan Chase in their Global Trade and Compliance sectors. He has also worked for several private equity firms where he held positions focusing on HIPAA compliance regulation.

While at Florida State University, Xavi was a member of the Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society, and the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, where he held several prominent leadership positions. Majoring in Political Science, Xavi was featured on several BBC News television and radio broadcasts where he discussed politics and international affairs.

Xavi subsequently attended Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida, where he received his Juris Doctorate 2021. While at Stetson, Xavi interned at the Office of the State Attorney in the 13th Judicial Circuit in Tampa. Working for the State Attorney’s office, Xavi was assigned to Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN), a division prosecuting drug and gang related crimes. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2022.

Xavi joined Baumann, Gant & Keeley in 2023. His practice area includes litigation work in areas pertaining to personal injury, general liability, premises liability, negligent security, and construction defect, among others.

He is a member of the Florida Bar’s Young Lawyers Division, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Cuban-American Bar Association, and the Tampa Hispanic Bar Association.

In his spare time, Xavi is particularly fond of discussing history, politics, and sports. He also enjoys golf, intramural softball, and watching Florida State Seminoles football in the Fall.
