Jose Angel Garcia, Esq. is an associate attorney based in Tampa, Florida. He holds a Juris Doctor from Florida International University College of Law, where he graduated cum laude in May 2023. During his time at law school, Jose distinguished himself through active involvement in the Student Bar Association, serving as Treasurer in his final year and Vice-President in his second. He was also a pivotal member of the FIU Law Peer Mentor Program and the FIU Law American Civil Liberties Union, holding the position of Vice-President and Treasurer respectively. His academic excellence was recognized with the CALI Book Award in Constitutional Law.

Prior to law school, Jose earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Business with a minor in Economics from Florida International University in July 2020. His career in law began at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office as a Summer Legal Intern, where he gained valuable experience in legal proceedings and community interaction. Subsequently, he served as a Legal Clerk at Your Insurance Attorney, LLP, and at Document Crunch in Miami, where he trained an AI model to identify critical risk provisions in construction contracts.

In October 2023, Jose joined Baumann, Gant & Keeley, focusing on negligent security, personal injury and construction defect litigation. Prior to this role, he held a short-term position as In-House Counsel at Crewfare, where he was instrumental in negotiating contracts, advising on legal and business operations, and managing legal risks.

Jose is deeply committed to community service, having volunteered with the Carlos A. Costa Immigration & Human Rights Clinic and the Florida Justice Center, aiding underrepresented communities and engaging in civil rights advocacy. His multilingual capabilities, being a native Spanish speaker and conversational in Italian, further enhance his ability to serve a diverse client base.

Outside the courtroom, Jose is passionate about music production, soccer, and movies, pursuits that complement his professional endeavors with creative and strategic thinking.
